What is a Max Full FaceEnglish Angora?

A Max Full Face English Angora is typically from European lines. These genetic lines are distinctly different from the classic American-line English Angoras.  Most breeders in the USA who have Max Full Face English Angoras have imported their lines from Europe. Both are 100% English Angoras by their own right, but have different genetic lineage, focused on producing different traits.  Our European English Angoras are not only fluffier than our American English Angoras, but they have a different body structure.  They are not as compact and are more "hair" like in their body build.

There is a lot of confusion around the terms "full face English Angora" and "Max Full Face English Angora".  Some people call their rabbits "max full face," but not every full-faced bunny meets the standard of a max full face. A traditional full-face English Angora has wool extending down to the nose, while a true Max Full Face has wool covering the entire nose, down the whole triangle, creating a much fuller, more dramatic appearance. Some breeders may also refer to this trait as "double maned" as different rabbit breeds have different terms. (We rabbit folk like things complicated. ;-)

If you are new to spotting the different between a classic English Angora, Full Face English Angora or a Maxi Full Face English Angora - One of the easiest ways to identify a genuine Max Full Face English Angora is when the bunny is a baby.  The wool of a Max Full Face English Angora grows in differently than the others.  All bunnies are born without hair.  The hair or wool slowly grows in over the first week.  A Max Full Face English angora's wool grows in a distinctive "V" pattern on their body. They go through a stage where they have noticeable bald spots on their face and belly. (They are ugly cute at this stage.)

However, this is completely normal—the coat fills in beautifully, and by 12 weeks of age, they become exceptionally fluffy.

Because these rabbits carry unique European genetics, they are much harder to find than standard English Angoras and are highly sought after by breeders and enthusiasts who appreciate their extraordinary wool coverage and unmistakable appearance.

Our Journey with Max Full Face English Angoras

After almost 2 years of research, over 1 year of planning, our imported French Max Full Face English Angoras— Have Arrived! They are the fluffiest bunnies you’ll ever cuddle! These beauties have incredibly dense, luxurious wool that grows long and plush on their whole face, often reaching all the way to the nose.

And yes—they are still 100% pure English Angoras, just with that extra-special magic from unique European lines that we’re so proud to hold.

In our experience, European imports have different body structure in addition to the obvious difference in wool density when compared to our American lines. Their temperaments are the same as our other bunnies - some are very outgoing and demand pets :-), some are a bit more reserved but all of them LOVE attention.   T

* Due to the cost and effort of importing these beautiful lines, these bunnies are pricier than our American line of English Anogras. (tariffs apply to bunnies too.)

**Please note if you wish to obtain a pedigree for a bunny from our imported lines, it must be discussed prior to purchase.
